The move aimed to realize the Government’s Resolution No. 19/2016/NQ-CP on measures to improve the national business environment and competitiveness.

At the same time, the agency also targeted to reduce the rate of specialised customs clearance inspection for imports from 30-35% to 15% by the end of 2016. The customs sector will annually cut at least 10% of administrative procedure costs.

Earlier, the agency completed the connection between VNACCS/VCIS system with the information technology systems of ASEAN member states for management of goods and means of transport in transit in the ASEAN region.

The department also coordinated with ASEAN members to operate the ASEAN single window mechanism; worked with Japan, the Republic of Korea, the U.S. and Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan) to connect and exchange information within the framework of customs cooperation.

The agency also implemented the Trade Facilitation Agreement which creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese exports and controlling imports./.
