VN seeks sustainable and close ties with Singapore

VGP – Việt Nam treasures and hopes to boost the long-term and close cooperation with Singapore while regarding the latter as one of its key partners in the region, said the Vietnamese Government chief.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made the statement while hosting a reception to Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong who is present in Việt Nam for the 17th ASEAN Summit.

The host leader took the occasion to express his gratitude to Singapore for backing Việt Nam’s initiatives in the 1st Meeting of ASEAN Chiefs of Security Agencies (MACOSA) and the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM ) for regional peace, stability and cooperation.

Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong was delighted to come back Việt Nam for the third time in 2010, wishing the ASEAN Summit a success.

According to Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, the bilateral ties are flourishing towards broader cooperation. 

Both the host and the guest leaders held that peace and stability in the Eastern Sea are the common aspiration of not only the two countries but also the whole region.   

Right after the reception, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his Singaporean counterpart witnessed the signing ceremony of investment contracts worth of US $290 million between enterprises of the two countries.
