VN, RoK discuss ways to beef up legislative cooperation

VGP – Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh and Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Chung Sye-kyun discussed ways to consolidate mutual belief and enhance cooperative relations more intensively in the coming time during their meeting in Seoul, the RoK.

Mr. Chung Sye-kyun highly appraised the Vietnamese Deputy PM’s official visit to the RoK on the occasion of the 22nd founding anniversary of diplomatic ties. 

The Vietnamese Deputy PM affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to and expect to promote the Strategic Partnership with the RoK, highlighting the cooperative relations between the two National Assemblies and remarkable development between the two sides’ relationship, especially after Speaker Chung Sye-kyun’s official visit to Viet Nam in April. 

He proposed the two sides strengthen exchanges and cooperation between their parliaments, especially legislative areas, supervision works and crucial issues related to socio-economic development as well as enhance cooperation in culture, education, tourism, labor, people-to-people exchanges and support each other at international and regional inter-parliamentary union. 

The Vietnamese leader suggested the RoK’s National Assembly facilitate Overseas Vietnamese to study and work in the RoK, especially Vietnamese brides to stabilize their lives. 

He urged the two sides soon ink a support agreement in civil affairs and trade and RoK and consider signing the Memorandum of Understanding on receiving Vietnamese workers to the RoK under the Employment Permit System (EPS). 

Mr. Chung Sye-kyun asserted to take measures to assist the Vietnamese community in the RoK.
