VN requests China’s immediate release of fishermen

VGP – Việt Nam requests China to release its 13 Vietnamese fishermen and their fishing boat that were seized by China on August 1 while they were trying to avoid a tropical low pressure in Việt Nam’s Hoàng Sa Archipelago, said Mr. Lê Dũng, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The spokesman made the statement yesterday at correspondents’ queries on Việt Nam’s response to the China’s arrest of Vietnamese fishermen and their ship QNg 95031 TS.

Việt Nam also requests China to provide information about the conditions of the fishermen soon, said Mr. Lê Dũng.
