Việt Nam is one of eight countries volunteering to pilot the UN reforms at national level. Accordingly, all UN bodies will realize five component of the One-UN Initiative, namely a Common Plan, a Common Management System, a Common Budget, a Common Leader and a Common House.
According to Chairman of the UNESCO National Committee Nguyễn Quốc Cường, Việt Nam is the first country to host the UNESCO conference on One-UN topic and this proves the UN’s trust and high appreciation to Việt Nam.
During the three-day conference, Việt Nam and representatives from other seven experimenters and 19 countries preparing the UN Development Aid Framework (UNDAF) will discuss measures and proposals to speed up the process of UN reform.
In 2007, Việt Nam and the UN inked a joint action plan to 2010 in order to improve the performance of this biggest multilateral organization in Việt Nam.
