VN, Netherlands set up strategic partnership on agriculture

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte agreed to establish Strategic Partnership on agriculture and food security between the two countries during their talks in Ha Noi on June 16.

PM Dung highly valued the Dutch PM’s visit to Viet Nam as helping promote cooperative relations more effectively and practically.

The Vietnamese leader asserted that Viet Nam regards the Netherlands as a crucial partner in the EU.

PM Mark Rutte confirmed that the Netherlands will strengthen multi-lateral relations with Viet Nam.

The two leaders agreed to expand cooperation in defense, science and technology, education and training, cutural exchange to enhance understanding between the two nations.

The Dutch PM affirmed to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Day in the Netherlands to be organized successfully in 2014.

Both spoke highly of the Strategic Partnership on climate change adaptation and water management set up in 2010.

They exchanged international issues of mutual concerns, asserting to support each other at multi-lateral forums.

The Dutch leaders confirmed to advocate Viet Nam in promoting the comprehensive relations with the EU, encourage the European Commission to soon approve the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA)and recognize Viet Nam as a full market economy and complete the Free Trade Agreement negotiations with Viet Nam.

On the East Sea issue, the Dutch PM shared concerns about recent developments in the East Sea, affirming that the Netherlands supported the Statements of the EU and the ASEAN Foreign Ministers, suggesting that related sides exercise restraint and deal with disputes with peaceful measures in compliance with international law.
 
After the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of related documents and issued a joint statement on Rutte's visit.
