VN, Laos promote energy cooperation

Deputy PM Dung welcomed the Lao guest with his working visit aiming to beef up cooperation in energy, especially electricity transmission between Laos and Viet Nam.

Viet Nam and Laos enjoyed the special brotherhood which is a valuable treasure of the two Parties, States and peoples, said the host leader.

According to the Deputy PM, the two countries have spurred the bilateral ties in all fields, especially trade and investment in line with the special friendship and aspirations of their leaders and peoples.  

Laos owns abundant potentials and advantages in energy, especially electricity transmission. Hence, a large number of Vietnamese businesses have been interested in the neighboring country.

Deputy PM Dung proposed relevant ministries of Laos and Viet Nam promote energy cooperation in order to optimize respective potentials and advantages.

He also suggested the two sides review ongoing cooperative projects and unlock potentials for Vietnamese investors to expand footholds in energy supply and transmission.

For his part, Deputy Minister Viraphonh Viravong revealed that the Party, State, and Government of Laos attached great importance to energy development and electricity transmission.

Laos, said the guest, also hopes to shake hands with Vietnamese large-scale corporations to promote cooperation in the fields./.
