Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh highlighted the potential of the South India in general and Chennai city in particular as well as other dynamic development of the Indian top economic corporations.

In 2015, India poured US$570 million in Viet Nam, up 179% compared to the previous year, ranking 28th out of 110 investors in Viet Nam.

As Viet Nam has become part of the ASEAN Economic Community and joined many free trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Indian businesses investing in Viet Nam and exporting to others may enjoy tariffs of 0%.

Delegates at the forum presented foreign investment encouragement policies and incentives for Viet Nam’s economic zones and industrial parks.

President of the India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lanka Muthu Subramaniyan shared information about opportunities for Indian businesses to invest in Viet Nam.

This is the second of a chain of investment promotion activities conducted by the Vietnamese Embassy in India in 2016.
