VN goes 44 days without new community infection, patient tally rises to 328

VGP – A one-year old boy returning from Russia has been confirmed as the 328th COVID-19 infection case in Viet Nam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said early Saturday.

So far Viet Nam has confirmed 328 COVID-19 patients, including 188 imported cases

Patient 328, residing in Thieu Duy, Thieu Hoa, the central province of Thanh Hoa, had been in close contact with the previously-announced COVID-19 patient numbered 314.

He joined the flight VN0062 from Russia and landed at Van Don International Airport on May 13. The baby boy was quarantined at a military camp in nearby Hai Duong Province and is being treated at the locality's Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

So far, 34 passengers onboard the flight VN0062 from Russia have been confirmed having the virus, said the committee.

Of the country's patient tally, 279 have been cleared of the virus and recovered their health.

The other 49 patients have been treated at nine central and provincial hospitals nationwide with stable health conditions, including 19 at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi, 13 at Bac Lieu Province General Hospital and seven at Thai Binh Provicne General Hospital.

As of 6pm on May 30, the nation has gone 44 consecutive days without new community infection./.
