VN, Germany join hands to drive off dangerous criminals

VGP - The Vietnamese General Department of Police and the German Federation Investigation Agency on Wednesday held a meeting in Hồ Chí Minh City to review the bilateral cooperation on fighting against dangerous criminals and organized crimes.

The two sides identified outstanding issues and new measures to enhance the effectiveness of cooperative programs which brought about fruitful achievements in the last three years.

The General Department’s Vice General Director, Major-General Đỗ Kim Tuyến, praised the close teamwork ties of the two countries in exchanging information, extraditing criminals and clarifying cases, so as to prevent criminal activities.

The meeting placed expectations on the police forces’ shoulders in combating dangerous and organized crimes relating to human trafficking, drug and weapon smuggling, hi-tech criminals, and money laundering.

Việt Nam and Germany inked an anti-crime cooperation agreement in August 2006.
