He asked the EU member countries to promptly ratify the free trade agreement and investment protection agreement signed between Viet Nam and the EU last June to bring practical benefits to the signatories.
Both sides should double efforts to further increase bilateral trade volume, that reached US$357 million last year, Minh said.
He took the occasion to thank Slovenia for having supported Viet Nam to win a non-permanent seat on the Untied Nations Security Council for the tenure 2020-2021.
Počivalšek briefed the host about the outcomes of the 2nd session of the Viet Nam-Slovenia Inter-governmental Commission on economic cooperation, which took place in Ha Noi earlier the same day.
The session provided good opportunity for both countries to discuss ways to enhance bilateral economic ties, emphasized Počivalšek.
Pocivalsek highly valued Viet Nam’s potential and role in the region and voiced support for early ratification of the trade and investment deals between Viet Nam and the EU.
Both sides agreed to accelerate the exchange of delegations at all levels and create favorable conditions for their businesses to enhance cooperation in such domains like logistics and technology.
