The Deputy PM, FM expects both sides would continue close coordination and support at international organizations and multi-lateral forums, especially the United Nations and the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) for peace, stability, cooperation in Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
He took the occasion to convey Vietnamese leaders’ invitation to El Salvador’s President Sánchez Cerén and FM Hugo Martínez Bonilla to visit Viet Nam soon.
Deputy FM Castañeda expressed his admiration for Viet Nam’s glorious history and spoke highly of the country’s achievements gained during the past three decades of comprehensive reform.
El Salvador attaches importance to consolidating comprehensive cooperation with Viet Nam, affirmed Deputy FM Castañeda.
Earlier the same day, Deputy FM Ha Kim Ngoc and his El Salvador’s counterpart co-chaired the first political consultation during which both sides informed each other about recent developments in respective countries and discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties.
The two sides agreed to continue improving the effectiveness of the political consultation mechanisms between the two foreign ministries and supporting businesses to expand partnership.
The two Deputy FMs shared the view that potential for bilateral cooperation remains vast, particularly in such fields like training, transport, oil and gas, construction materials, aquaculture and agriculture processing.
The two sides also exchanged views on a wide range of regional and international issues of common concerns.
During his stay in Viet Nam, Deputy FM Castañeda had working sessions with Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh and Vice President of the Viet Nam Unions of Friendship Organizations Don Tuan Phong.
He will also visit Ho Chi Minh City and attend the opening ceremony of El Salvador’s Honorary Consulate in the city./.
