VN, El Salvador establish diplomatic ties

VGP – Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm and El Salvador’s FM Hugo Martinez Bonilla on Saturday issued a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic ties at ambassador level between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was carried out in Tokyo where the two FMs are attending the ongoing 4th Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) Foreign Ministers Meeting.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm stressed that Việt Nam attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Latin American countries, including El Salvador.

For his part, FM Hugo Martinez Bonilla stated that the establishment of Vietnam-El Salvador diplomatic ties is the start for development of bilateral relations and all-round cooperation.

He also expressed hope for bilateral cooperation deals to be signed in the future during Vietnamese leaders’ visits to El Salvador

The two diplomats also discussed ways to deepen the bilateral relationship in the time to come.
