VN, Ecuador hold political consultation

VGP – Ecuador’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Marco Albuja is now on an official visit to Viet Nam from January 24-27 to attend the second political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries.

Mr. Marco Albuja said both sides should boost cooperation in potential fields like agriculture, food security, petroleum exploitation, telecommunication and science and technology.

To create favorable legal framework for the bilateral ties, Ecuadorian Government would actively consider recognizing Viet Nam’s market economy status.

During his stay, Marco Albuja also paid a courtesy call to Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and leaders of National Oil and Gas Group and military-run Viettel Group.

Foreign Minister Minh affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to consolidating friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Ecuador and welcomed Ecuador’s coming high-ranking visits to the Southeast Asian country.
