VN confirms five more imported COVID-19 cases, total reaches 1,054

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed five new COVID-19 cases this afternoon, bringing the country’s patient tally to 1,054.

Patient 1,050 is a 51-year old woman from Song Cau District, Phu Yen Province.

Patient 1,051 is a 28-year old woman from Vinh Phuc Ward, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi.

Both of them landed at the Can Tho International Airport on September 6 on flight VJ2527 from the Philippines and were immediately quarantined in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

They are being isolated and treated at the city’s Lung and Tuberculosis Disease Hospital.

A 35-year old man and his 2-year old son are patients numbered 1,052 and 1,053. They are natives of Bao Yen District in the northern province of Lao Cai.

They entered the country on August 26 and quarantined at Ben Cau District Medical Center in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

Patient 1,054 is a 26-year old woman from Van Thang Ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa Province.

She entered the country on August 25 and quarantined at a centralized quarantine camp in Tay Ninh Province.

Patients 1,052-1,054 are being isolated and treated at the Tay Ninh General Hospital.

The same day, the National Steering Committee also reported that 14 patients have recovered and exited hospitals, raising the total recoveries to 868.

So far, Viet Nam reported 35 COVID-19 fatalities./.
