VN conducts 17,900 tests for COVID-19 between April 16-19

VGP - Viet Nam conducted 17,900 tests for COVID-19 between April 16-19, or over 4,000 tests daily, according to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The figure was released at an ongoing meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control, chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The Committee also said as many as 111 laboratories in Viet Nam are capable of testing COVID-19, of which 39 can verify the testing outcomes.

Earlier in February, the World Health Organization (WHO) provided 10,000 test kits for Viet Nam and would supply another package of 40,000 test kits made by Germany in the coming time.   

During the past weekend, Ha Noi’s Department of Health conducted as many as 1,064 COVID-19 tests for shoppers of the five wholesale markets in a effort to contain spread of the virus in the capital city.

In Ha Loi Village-one of the city's COVID-19 clusters, the municipal authorities collected 13,762 samples, in which 13,452 turned out to be negative for the virus.
