This will be the first Asian airline to deploy a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on direct routes from Southeast Asia to Europe, beginning with services from Ha Noiand Ho Chi Minh City to London, England (UK).
The 787-9 Dreamliner is the latest version of Boeing’s 787 airliner, which can make longer flights, and seat more passengers and cargo than the 787-8 while reducing fuel use and fumes by 20% compared with the Boeing 777.
The airliner also features modern equipment to make passengers feel more comfortable during long-haul flights.
The delivery of the airlines’ Boeing is expected in June.
Viet Nam Airlines will start receiving Airbus’s wide-body A350-900 under a plan to replace its current fleet with fuel-saving new generation aircrafts as it seeks to become a four-star airline in 2015, and one of the top carriers in Southeast Asia in 2020.
