A checkpoint for temperature screening set up in Son Loi commune of Binh Xuyen district
The move was made on Wednesday after three-month-old girl contracted the virus from her grandmother, becoming the 10th Covid-19 patient in Vinh Phuc province and the 7th infection case in Binh Xuyen district.
All the commune's residents shall not be allowed to leave the affected area for the next 20 days.
The checkpoints now increase to eight, according to Le Duy Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee.
The number of infection cases tends to rise in Son Loi commune, he said.
“Everything is under control”, affirmed Thanh, adding that the locality has exerted all efforts and is confident to contain the epidemic.
The same day, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hoang Thi Thuy Lan approved a proposal of the Department of Education and Training to postpone reopening of schools at all levels until February 23.
Earlier, Vinh Phuc had set up a field hospital with 300 beds for quarantining and treating Covid-19 patients
A quarantine area with 200 beds was also arranged in Vinh Yen city./.
