Viettel Peru will supply mobile services in Peru through 900 MHz frequencies. The company expects to cover 15,000 mobile subscribers after one year of operation and 357,000 after five years.
Viettel Peru forecasts that it will invest US$300 million in installing broadcasting stations, cables and other equipment in the coming time.
Viettel Peru gained the 20-year contract after committing to provide free-of-charge broadband services in ten years for 718 schools and medical clinics in 830 poorest districts in Peru. The company also commits to supplying mobile services for 48 rural districts.
Viettel penetrated into the Peruvian market in 2011. It became the fifth foreign market of Viettel after Cambodia, Laos, Haiti and Mozambique./.
