As the Open Doors data shows, education remains a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship. The U.S. Mission to Viet Nam is committed to deepening education cooperation in the spirit of the 2023 U.S.–Viet Nam Joint Statement on the elevation of U.S.-Vietnamese ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Through a new, five-year project, USAID is partnering with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to modernize and internationalize Viet Nam's higher education sector.
The project will provide assistance to improve education quality, including in STEM, and advance digital transformation at the policy level as well as in targeted higher education institutions, and to upgrade academic programs to align with both industry workforce qualification requirements and academic accreditation standards.
In addition, the U.S. Mission to Viet Nam is launching a new dedicated exchange program to foster innovation in technical training at Vietnamese community colleges as well as expanded English language programs and STEM education activities for students in kindergarten to 12th grade./.
