Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders held talks to discuss measures to more effectively implement high-level agreements and commitments, thereby further deepening the "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion" between Viet Nam and Laos.
This is Le's first official visit to Laos and his first foreign visit in his capacity as the Prime Minister.

The Vietnamese leader is also among the first high-level guests to be received by the Lao Prime Minister in his new capacity.
Viet Nam-Laos relations have been strengthened over the recent years. Defense and security cooperation is an important pillar of the bilateral ties, while economic cooperation has made positive progress.
In 2025, the two-way trade reached approximately US$3 billion, up 32 percent from 2024. Viet Nam remains among the top foreign investors in Laos, with a total registered capital of approximately US$7.04 billion in around 300 projects./.
