Vietnamese lotus to be grown in Japan

VGP – Vietnamese lotus will be grown in Japan as a gift from members of the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group to their peers in the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group.

The gift was handed over to members of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group during a visit to Japan by To Huy Rua, Head of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee’s Commission for Organization.

Mr. Rua, who also doubles President of the Viet Nam –Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, led a delegation on an official visit to Japan from August 1.

This visit aims to celebrate the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Year 2013 and the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

The Vietnamese officials were received by Speaker of the Japan House of Representatives Bunmei Ibuki, who expressed his pleasure at continual developments in bilateral strategic partnership in the last years.

He expressed desires to see the year 2013 mark a milestone in the two countries’ relationship.

The same day, members of the Friendship Parliamentarian Groups of Viet Nam and Japan held a working session.

It was followed by a lotus presentation ceremony during which Mr. Rua expressed his hope that lotus will blossomed to symbolize bilateral friendship./.
