Vietnamese, Indian leaders exchange greetings on 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties

VGP – Top leaders of Viet Nam and India have exchanged letters of congratulations on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties (January 7, 2022).

The letters were addressed to Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

In the letters, the leaders expressed their pleasure at the fine development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and India and both countries have become each other’s trusted friend and partner.

They noted that the adoption of the Joint Vision Statement for Peace, Prosperity and People has created new impetus for advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership across fields, bringing practical benefits to both nations.

The leaders were pleased with strong coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums, especially in 2021 when the two countries served as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

The elevation of the bilateral ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016 reflected the depth of trust and similar values and interests as well as the resolve to further strengthen the relationship between the two nations./.
