Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made that above statement on October 31 at a reception for CEO of Adidas Kasper Rorsted who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.
Pham welcomed Adidas to continue selecting Viet Nam as a strategic destination in the corporation's production chain.
He called on the business giant to expand production and operation in Viet Nam and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese firms to take part in high-value stages of Adidas's global supply chain.
The PM expected that Adidas will support Viet Nam in response to climate change and sea level rise via and provide recommendations for the Vietnamese Government in green growth and realization of climate commitments.
Pham urged the sportswear giant to prompt the parliaments of the EU member nations to approve the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement.
The deal will create an important driving force for economic and investment ties between Viet Nam and the EU, as well as Adidas' operations in Viet Nam, he added.
For his part, Kasper Rorsted expressed thanks to the active and effective support of the Vietnamese Government and the Prime Minister for Adidas.
He briefed about Addidas' vocational training activities in Viet Nam and scholarship grant for Vietnamese students.
Adidas will continue raising the localization rate and increasing production output in Viet Nam, Kasper Rorsted said./.
