Addressing the launch ceremony, Hiroshima Governor Yuzaki Hidehiko said his prefecture boasts close relations with Viet Nam as evidenced in many of its large enterprises running in the Southeast Asian country and a Vietnamese community in Hiroshima.
He expressed his hope the new air route will open up many more opportunities for cultural, economic, and tourism cooperation between the two sides.
Flights on this route last for more than four hours each. There are currently two round-trip flights per week, on every Thursday and Sunday.
The number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan in 2023 reached a new record of 573,900, an increase of 15.9 percent over 495,051 visitors achieved in 2019, announced the Japan National Tourism Organization.
Currently, Viet Nam is one of the top 10 largest tourist markets of Japan./.
