VietinBank opens branch in Laos

VGP - The Viet Nam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) in Laos (Vietinbank Laos) has upgraded its transaction office in Champasak province to a branch.

In his speech at the launching ceremony, Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietinbank, said the upgrade aims to help the branch be more proactive in business and expand its transaction offices in southern Laos with a variety of products. 

Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Laos Vatthana Dalaloi praised Vietinbank Laos’ business results and practical contributions in Laos, saying that the opening of the Champassak branch is an important step in its business expansion plan as Champassak is one of the provinces with high economic growth rate. 

The services offered by VietinBank’s branches in Laos include retail and business banking, foreign exchange, remittances, treasury services as well as ATMs.

Among the retail offerings include mortgages and personal loans while business banking services include term financing and trade financing. 

Beginning operation in February 2012, on August 2015 Vietinbank’s branch in Laos was upgraded to become Vietinbank Laos./.
