Viet Nam’s stance on current tensions between the U.S., Iran

Pham made the above statement in response to reporters' question regarding Viet Nam’s viewpoint on the current tensions between the U.S. and Iran

Viet Nam is closely monitoring the ongoing developments in the region, said the Spokesperson.

Viet Nam calls on all relevant parties to exercise restraint, refrain from actions that could escalate tensions, resolve differences through peaceful means, strictly comply with international law, the United Nations Charter and relevant UN resolutions, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, refrain from the use or threat of force in international relations, and create favorable conditions for peace negotiations for the sake of security, safety, peace, and stability in the region and the world, she underlined.

According to the diplomat, on January 15, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued recommendations to Vietnamese citizens. Accordingly, Vietnamese citizens are advised not to travel to Iran at this time. 

Vietnamese citizens in Iran should regularly update information, strictly comply with local authorities' regulations on travel, and follow warnings issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
