The figure was highlighted at the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Green Growth Products and Services Exhibition Space (GRECO 2026) held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 26.

The event was attended by representatives of more than 30 leading regional robotics and artificial intelligence manufacturers, research institutes, businesses, and educational institutions. It also featured demonstrations of 30 robot models designed for use in various sectors.

Viet Nam's robotics market was valued at approximately US$112 million in 2025. However, the country has an estimated 23–58 industrial robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers, compared with 84 in Thailand and 101 in Malaysia, indicating considerable room for wider adoption.

Meanwhile, its smart factory market exceeded US$926 million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$2.14 billion by 2034 as businesses accelerate production digitalization.

The expansion of robotics is closely linked to the development of smart factories, creating demand for software, system integration, data connectivity, workforce training, maintenance and operational optimization.

Also at the event, a strategic cooperation initiative was launched by AICAP Group JSC in cooperation with the China Robot Industry Development Alliance (CDRA), Hong Kong-based robotics group AIBRAIN and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).

It aims to develop a localized robotics ecosystem in Viet Nam, linking technology transfer, industrial applications and workforce training to support the country's science and technology development goals.

The cooperation is aligned with Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, which identifies science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as key drivers of national development.

Under Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg and Decision No. 21/2026/QD-TTg, the Government decisions have also designated robotics and automation, including autonomous mobile robots and industrial robots, as strategic technologies and products prioritized for research and development./.
