The Government has approved the Vietnamese goods for Vietnamese consumers program for the 2026–2030 period.
The program aims to build and develop an ecosystem of Vietnamese products that ensures quality, offers genuine competitiveness, and meets the diverse needs of the domestic market and consumers.
It also aims to establish strong Vietnamese brands that consumers trust and are willing to choose, thereby contributing to achieving the annual double-digit growth goal.
The program seeks to maintain the share of Vietnamese goods at over 80 percent in domestic supermarkets and shopping malls, and above 60 percent in traditional retail channels. Revenue in the domestic market for Vietnamese consumer goods manufacturing industries is expected to grow by an average of 12–15 percent annually.
More than 70 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing consumer goods are expected to adopt e-commerce, while 45 percent of SMEs operating in the trade sector will participate in major domestic and international e-commerce platforms.
Under the program, a Vietnamese goods digital platform will be formed to connect, integrate and authenticate essential data on businesses, products, assessments of compliance with criteria, product traceability, distribution outlets and consumer feedback.
Meanwhile, at least five specialized digital storefronts for Vietnamese goods on major e-commerce platforms will be developed.
E-commerce sales are expected to grow by an average of 23–25 percent annually, reaching approximately US$93–97 billion by 2030 and accounting for 18–19 percent of the country's total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue.
The total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2025 exceeded VND7 quadrillion (US$262.7 billion), up 9.2 percent compared to 2024, reflecting stronger purchasing power and underscoring the continued role of domestic consumption as a major growth driver./.
