Viet Nam, UN exchange cooperation agreements in New York

These agreements are:

(i) The Country Partnership Document (CPD) between the Government of Viet Nam, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for the 2027-2031 period. 

(ii) The Agreement amending and supplementing the Agreement between the Government of Viet Nam and the United Nations Development Program on upgrading the UN Green One House in Ha Noi. 

(iii) The Letter of Intention on the establishment of the Regional Counter Cybercrime Hub for Asia-Pacific in Viet Nam between the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Addressing the event, General Secretary and President To Lam appreciated the effective contributions of the UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA to poverty allevation, sustainable development, protection of children' rights, improvement of population quality, gender equality in Viet Nam since 1970s, contributing to consolidating the solid foundations for national development.

The CPD for the 2027-2031 would open up a new chapter for cooperation between Viet Nam and the UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA, reflecting the strong commitment of the relevant parties in transforming strategic goals into concrete actions and outcomes, bringing practical benefits to Viet Nam, he noted.

The top Vietnamese leader expressed his wish that the UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA would continue to accompany Viet Nam in renewing its development model, promoting digital transformation and green transition, enhancing self-reliance, resilience to aging population, as well as the role of women and youth in a bid to help the Southeast Asian nation realize its goal to become a developed country with high income by 2045./.
