Jurin Laksanawisit made that above statement while hosting Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thanh Hai who attended the Vietnamese Goods Week 2023 held in Bangkok, Thailand from August 16-20.
The Thai Deputy PM affirmed that the Thai Government and Minister of Commerce advocate trade promotion activities and programs between the two nations.
The two countries have potential for stronger cooperation in other areas such as industry, investment and tourism, he noted, asserting to work closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade to effectively implement outcomes of the 4th meeting of Thailand-Viet Nam Joint Trade Committee.
The Vietnamese Deputy Minister said that the two economies are increasingly showing close cohesion and cooperation in global and regional value chains in fields of automotive industry, electronics, iron and steel, textiles, footwear, food processing and household appliances.
Despite negative global economic factors, the bilateral trade value hit US$21.6 billion in 2022, making Thailand the biggest trade partner of Viet Nam in ASEAN./.
