
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has signed a Decision approving the program on innovating and improving the quality of rural vocational training untill 2030.
The program not only focuses on improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational training for rural adults, but also contributes to restructuring the labor force and the economy, creating jobs, increasing rural residents' incomes, and narrowing the gap in the proportion of trained workers between rural and urban areas.
The program will be implemented nationwide, with priority given to especially disadvantaged coastal and island communes, communes, villages, and hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and communes engaged in building new-style rural areas and modern new-style rural development.
The program focuses on training a high-quality workforce to serve advanced and modern agricultural production, while supporting rural workers to work at industry and services, supporting the industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
Special attention will be given to women, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities, with a target of over 85 percent of trainees securing employment after completing their training.
Meanwhile, training programs in industry, services, agriculture, and rural trades in line with regional socio-economic development needs will be promoted.
In particular, the program will establish remote training stations in disadvantaged areas, enabling workers to more easily access suitable training courses.
As of July 1, 2025, the country had 15.84 million rural households, of which 8.02 million were engaged in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, accounting for 50.61 percent. Non-agricultural households numbered over 6.95 million, or 43.92 percent, up 3.89 percentage points./.
