Pham made that above statement in response to a reporter's inquiry about Viet Nam's reaction to the information in a report of The National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia concerning humanitarian cooperation in the search for and identification of American service members MIA during the war in Viet Nam.

"These are distorted and false information, and we firmly reject them", stressed the Spokesperson.

Humanitarian cooperation efforts in the search for and identification of the U.S. service members MIA during the war in Viet Nam have been actively and effectively carried out by the governments of both Viet Nam and the U.S. for the last more than 50 years, helping to identify and repatriate the remains of thousands of U.S. service members to their families, she said.

This is a highly meaningful outcome, contributing to promoting cooperation in addressing war legacies between the two countries and serving as a vivid testament to the spirit of humanitarianism, she underlined.

It helps build and strengthen trust and friendship between Viet Nam and the U.S., she said, adding that Viet Nam's effective cooperation in the MIA effort has always been acknowledged and highly appreciated by the U.S. side, and is regarded as a model in international relations.

In the time ahead, the two countries will continue to work together in this area in accordance with the spirit of the Joint Leaders' Statement on elevating Viet Nam–U.S. ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development, stated Pham./.
