In addition, 17 strategic cooperation agreements were also inked between Viet Nam and companies from countries with advanced defense industries, including the U.S., India, France, and Belgium.
The Viet Nam International Defense Exhibition 2024 took place at the Gia Lam Military Airport in Ha Noi from December 19 to 22, attracting a large number of defense industry enterprises both domestically and internationally, as well as thousands of visitors.
The exhibition featured 440 indoor and outdoor booths, showcasing fighter aircraft, transport aircraft; helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, drones, ships, artillery systems, radars, guns, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, simulations, communications, optoelectronics, command and control systems.
Over 240 organizations and companies from Viet Nam and 48 other countries showcased their products and technologies at the expo.
Throughout the four-day event, thematic workshops were held, providing platforms for in-depth discussions and collaboration opportunities.
As of December 22, the four-day expo attracted over 260,000 visitors.
Addressing the opening ceremony on December 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed Viet Nam's commitment to the "four nos" defense policy: no partaking in military alliances, no siding with one country to act against another, no foreign military bases in the Vietnamese territory or using Viet Nam as leverage to counteract other countries, and no using force or threatening to use force in international relations.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Viet Nam's commitment to promoting defense cooperation to strengthen friendship, mutual understanding, and trust, while jointly addressing common security and safety challenges, preventing conflicts, and ensuring peace in line with international law./.
