Viet Nam sets new single-day record of COVID-19 cases
VGP – There were 29,413 COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, setting a new single-day record since the outbreak of the pandemic in Viet Nam, according to the Ministry of Health.
The latest patients consist of 10 imported cases and 29,403 domestic in all 63 cities and provinces: Ha Noi (3,507), Hai Duong (1,915), Hai Phong (1,489), Nghe An (1,385), Lang Son (1,379), Nam Dinh (1,362), Thai Nguyen (1,275), Phu Tho (1,053), Vinh Phuc (982), Ninh Binh (970), Bac Ninh (922), Hoa Binh (897), Quang Ninh (892), Da Nang (787), Thanh Hoa (776), Bac Giang (664), Quang Nam (587), Gia Lai (579), Thai Binh (540), Hung Yen (539), Binh Phuoc (469), Binh Dinh (437), Lao Cai (429), Son La (428), Quang Binh (406), Yen Bai (347), Dak Nong (309), Lam Dong (307), Quang Tri (302), Phu Yen (288), Ho Chi Minh City (285), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (282), Dak Lak (235), Khanh Hoa (209), Ha Nam (201), Thua Thien Hue (200), Quang Ngai (165), Ha Tinh (159), Kon Tum (155), Cao Bang (153), Ca Mau (145), Tuyen Quang (136), Lai Chau (118), Dien Bien (117), Ha Giang (100), Bac Kan (81), Binh Thuan (76), Binh Duong (63), Kien Giang (50), Vinh Long (35), Dong Nai (31), Ben Tre (29), Bac Lieu (24), Tra Vinh (23), Tay Ninh (21), Dong Thap (18), Can Tho (14), Soc Trang (12), Ninh Thuan (12), Long An (10), Hau Giang (9), Tien Giang (7), and An Giang (6).
These cases bring the national caseload to 2,540,273 of which 198 are Omicron case.
The same day, the ministry reported further 6,193 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 2,232,947.
The ministry also announced additional 91 fatalities, raising the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 39,037 or 1.6 percent of the national patient tally.
The nation has administered 186,001,127 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 247,072 doses from Sunday./.
