Viet Nam sends 75,000 guest workers abroad in H1

VGP - Viet Nam sent nearly 74,700 Vietnamese workers abroad in the first half of this year, fulfilling 57.4 percent of the whole-year target, according to the Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In June alone, 13,060 guest workers were sent abroad under official labor contracts. Japan was the leading destination with 5,338 workers, followed by Chinese Taipei with 6,074 and South Korea with 673.

In the January-June period, Japan remained the top importer of manpower from Viet Nam, receiving more than 35,240 workers, followed by Taiwan with 28,206 and South Korea with over 5,650.

Viet Nam targets to send  130,000 guest workers in 2025.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is stepping up international cooperation to broaden labor markets, diversify job sectors, and improve workforce quality, ensuring better protection for Vietnamese workers abroad./.
