There are more than 500 businesses licensed to send Vietnamese workers abroad.

Deputy Minister of MOLISA Nguyen Ba Hoan said, sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad is a solution to create jobs and income for workers and increase foreign exchange revenue for the country.

It also aims to strengthen multi-faceted cooperative relations between Viet Nam and recipient countries on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, respect for each other's laws and traditions, he underlined.

Currently, Viet Nam ranks first among 15 countries sending workers to Japan. As of December, 2022, 345,000 Vietnamese laborers are working in the Northeast Asian nation.

Viet Nam and Japan are working together to carry out a project which targets to help Vietnamese workers seek suitable jobs in Japan.

In order to protect workers' interests in Japan, the ministry has also signed co-operation agreements with many Japanese prefectures such as Chiba, Saitama, Gunma, Kanagawa, and Nagano.

Apart from traditional markets such as Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, the ministry has also moved to explore new markets for Vietnamese workers, especially in Europe, such as Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Croatia.

In early August, the ministry and the Greek union of agricultural cooperatives discussed collaboration in sending Vietnamese to work in agriculture in this country. So far, six businesses have been allowed to send Vietnamese workers to Greece to work in this field./.
