Pham made the suggestion during his meeting with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa on the sidelines of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, China, on June 25.

Prime Minister Pham highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and expressed Viet Nam's desire to strengthen ties with Ecuador, particularly in trade, investment, agriculture, finance, and telecommunications.

He specifically recommended Ecuador support investment from Viettel, Viet Nam's military-run telecom group, to assist Ecuador in developing its telecommunications infrastructure, including 5G services and digital transformation initiatives. Such cooperation, he noted, would help stimulate Ecuador's national development and job creation for its people.

President Noboa affirmed Viet Nam's status as an important partner for Ecuador. He shared his admiration for the Southeast Asian country, especially its agricultural prowess and coffee industry. He also voiced interest in enhancing cooperation with Viet Nam in education—particularly in STEM fields.

On telecommunication, President Noboa welcomed Vietnamese investors in Ecuador's 5G development plans, pledging to facilitate favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises.

Both leaders agreed to step up high-level visits and exchanges, leverage existing cooperation mechanisms, and boost trade and investment promotion. They also emphasized the need to spur business connectivity and deepen collaboration in areas where each country holds competitive advantages. In addition, they discussed regional and global issues of shared concern./.
