Pham made the proposal during a meeting with President and CEO of Ericsson Group, Börje Ekholm, in Stockholm on June 13 as part of his official visit to Sweden.
Pham expressed hope that the Swedish group would remain a trusted partner of Viet Nam for the next 50 to 100 years, embracing a spirit of joint research, shared knowledge, collaborative action, mutual benefits, shared success, and co-development — all grounded in harmonized interests, shared risks, and healthy competition to foster innovation.
In response, Börje Ekholm praised Viet Nam's commitment and the Prime Minister's personal efforts in driving the country's digital transformation. "Viet Nam is among the first countries to successfully commercialize 5G, supported by highly capable telecom and technology enterprises," he noted.
The CEO said Ericsson looks forward to continuing cooperation with Viet Nam in deploying 5G, accelerating digital transformation, and advancing Industry 4.0 to boost economic growth and innovation. Ericsson will also continue to work with Vietnamese partners in personnel exchange, the rollout of 5G-related services, and is ready to deploy 6G in the future./.
