Viet Nam reports 1,587 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 1,587 COVID-19 cases on Friday, raising Viet Nam's COVID-19 patient tally to 10,706,111.

The latest infections were recorded in 51 cities and provinces, namely Ha Noi (373), Phu Tho (102), Vinh Phuc (92), Nghe An (66), Yen Bai (65), Quang Ninh (64), Tuyen Quang (60), Quang Binh (59), Da Nang (49), Bac Ninh (48), Lao Cai (46), Hai Duong (46), Son La (43), Thai Binh (41), Thai Nguyen (40), Bac Kan (33), Ho Chi Minh City (31), Quang Tri (25), Lam Dong (24), Ha Tinh (23), Hung Yen (23), Lai Chau (21), Ha Nam (19), Ha Giang (17), Lang Son (16), Nam Dinh (15), Quang Ngai (15), Hoa Binh (15), Bac Giang (14), Ninh Binh (13), Thanh Hoa (11), Cao Bang (10), Dien Bien (10), Binh Phuoc (8 ), An Giang (6), Ca Mau (6), Binh Thuan (5), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (5), Gia Lai (4), Khanh Hoa (3), Long An (3), Vinh Long (3), Binh Dinh (3), Ninh Thuan (2), Tay Ninh (2), Tra Vinh (2), Thua Thien-Hue (2), Dong Nai (1), Ben Tre (1), Dong Thap (1), and Hau Giang (1).

The ministry said there were additional 7,151 recoveries over the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases to 9,390,032.

The ministry also reported two more deaths, bringing the nation's COVID-19 fatality toll to 43,075 or 0.4 percent of the national caseload.

The nation has administered 218,799,777 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 658,999 doses from Thursday.
