The two Government leaders reached the above agreement during their meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 10 on the occasion of attending the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits.
The Vietnamese leader lauded on the bilateral trade value worth of US$1.22 billion over the first nine months of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 29 percent.
For his part, Phankham Viphavanh expressed thanks to the support of Viet Nam for Laos in its COVID-19 pandemic fight, socio-economic development process and human resource training.
Both sides expressed their delight on the achievements of the bilateral relationship over the recent years, particularly in terms of politics-diplomacy, security-defense and trade-investment.
They pledged to continue giving the highest priority to maintaining, nurturing and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations in increasingly intensive and effective manner, bringing practical benefits for their peoples.
The two PMs pledged to continue implementation of the high-level agreements and the outcomes of the sessions of Viet Nam-Laos inter-Governmental Committee as well as cooperation programs between ministries, agencies and localities.
The pair agreed to step up high-level delegation exchanges and organize bilateral cooperation mechanisms, particularly the 45th session of the inter-Governmental Committee and the closing ceremony of Viet Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.
Both sides expressed their determinations to handle obstacles and speed up the realization of key projects such as Vung Ang Port in the central province of Ha Tinh and Nongkhang Airport in Laos' Houaphanh Province.
Regarding international and regional issues of mutual concerns, they were unanimous in enhancing close coordination, support, exchanges and consultation at multilateral forums, particularly ASEAN, the UN and sub-region mechanisms, contributing to maintaining solidarity, unity and the central role of ASEAN amidst challenges in the new context./.
