At the Viet Nam–Kyrgyzstan business forum that took place in Ha Noi on March 7, Kasymaliev noted that Viet Nam and Kyrgyzstan enjoy great potential to promote cooperation in various promising sectors and industries, such as agriculture, hydropower, renewable energy, tourism, information technology, and digital economy.

Kyrgyzstan offers many incentives in terms of tariffs, export procedures, and administrative procedures, creating numerous investment cooperation opportunities for foreign businesses, including Vietnamese enterprises, emphasized the Kyrgyz Prime Minister.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said, bilateral trade between the two countries has grown positively in recent years (ranging from 66-70 percent per year), especially since the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement, of which Kyrgyzstan is a signatory, came into effect in 2016.

Notably, in 2024, the two-way trade value reached a record high to US$21.5 million, up 172 percent, making Viet Nam the biggest trading partner of Kyrgyzstan in ASEAN. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan became Viet Nam's third-largest trading partner in the Central Asia.

Viet Nam and Kyrgyzstan should foster stronger ties, especially in the fields of trade, industry, and energy transition, to enhance the resilience of each economy, Nguyen suggested.

The Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and relevant agencies are willing to work with the Kyrgyz side to strengthen ties and carry out more investment and cooperation activities in the future, told the minister.

Kyrgyz Prime Minister left Ha Noi on March 7 afternoon, concluding his two-day official visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh./.
