These projects have a total investment of about VND1.28 quadrillion (US$48.7 billion). Among them, 89 projects have been completed and put into operation, according to the Ministry of Construction.
They comprise 59 transport projects, 44 civil and urban projects, 57 industrial projects, 36 on technical infrastructure, 22 on social housing, six on agriculture and rural development, three on culture and sports, 12 on education, one on national defense, and 10 on health care.
Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan said 129 of these projects are funded by the State with total investment of VND478 trillion, and the remaining 121 capitalized at VND 802 trillion are financed by other capital sources. There are five FDI projects worth some VND54 trillion.
The inauguration and groundbreaking of large-scale projects will help create momentum and a foundation for the country's socio-economic development, strengthen regional connectivity, contribute to achieving a growth rate of 8 percent or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years.
Since the beginning of this year, Viet Nam has completed the construction of additional 455 kilometers of expressways, bringing the total length of expressways in operation to 2,476 kilometers.
From now until this year's end, an additional 700 kilometers is expected to be completed, helping the Government to fullfilling its goal of having 3,000 kilometers of expressways by the end of 2025 and 5,000 kilometers by 2030.
As many as 1,397 kilometers of coastal road have been put into operation while 633 kilometers are under construction.
Regarding civil construction works, since 2021, 692 social housing projects have been carried out, providing 634,000 apartments while more than 334,200 temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated./.
