The Deputy Prime Minister, who oversees the diplomatic sector, made the above statement while hosting a reception for governor of Tochigi Prefecture Tomikazu Fukuda in Ha Noi on November 20.
He welcomed the governor's visit to Viet Nam, which took place on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties, expressing his belief that the visit would countribute to promoting the relationship more practically and effectively.
Tran suggested both nations make efforts to enhance the import of each side's agricultural products, including strawberries from Tochigi Prefecture and lychees from Viet Nam.
He asked the governor to expand comprehensive cooperation Viet Nam's localities, especially localities with agricultural advantages.
Tran said he is set to accompany President Vo Van Thuong to pay an official visit to Japan during which both side woud further elevate the two countries' relations to a higher level across all sectors, for peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
For his part, Tomikazu Fukuda said Viet Nam is a crucial partner of Japan, expecting to further strengthen the relations in the time ahead.
He vowed to do his utmost to bolster economic ties, expressing his hope that the locality's strawberry will be soon present in Viet Nam, adding that Viet Nam's lychees are favored in Japan./.
