Around 50 Vietnamese enterprises and 120 foreign businesses joined the forum jointly organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE and the Global Wind Energy Council.
Delegates spoke highly of commitments and efforts of Viet Nam in reducing emissions and promoting green transition after the COP26, as well as the Prime Minister's activities at the COP28, particularly the announcement of the Resource Mobilization Plan to implement the Political Declaration on establishing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
They hailed Viet Nam's huge potentials in renewable energy, wind power and solar power, noting that the nation has the opportunity to become the center of the renewable energy supply chain.
A number of measures were proposed at the forum, focusing on fostering collaboration between Viet Nam and its partners, and mobilizing resources for green transition, especially energy transition.
Delegates expressed their wish to accompany Viet Nam to take advantage of the potential and opportunities for sustainable development in the coming time.
Addressing the event, Pham said, amidst global headwinds, Viet Nam still maintains macroeconomic stability, puts inflation under control, promotes growth, and ensures major balances.
To speed up green transition, the country needs more assistance from international partners in terms of capital with preferential interest rates, advanced technology, human resource training, and modern administration, the Prime Minister added.
Viet Nam is making efforts to continue building strategies and plans to tap its unique potential, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantage while perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies, noted Pham.
Green transition along with digital transformation and innovation is an objective requirement, strategic choice and top priority of Viet Nam for green and sustainable development, reiterated the Prime Minister, adding that the Southeast Asian nation expects to boost collaboration with partners in these areas.
He called on foreign businesses and investment funds to continue considering Viet Nam as a reliable destination, asserting that the country always creates favorable conditions and protects the legal and legitimate rights and interests of investors in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.
The occasion, Prime Minister Pham witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between Vietnamese businesses and foreign partners in fields of carbon credit transactions and carbon emissions reduction, and aviation./.
