The Vietnamese delegation to the dialogue was led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham The Tung, while the Indian delegation was headed by Deputy National Security Advisor Pavan Kapoor.
Addressing the event, Pham said, since the two nations upgraded their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016, Viet Nam and India have achieved positive outcomes across various fields, including politics and diplomacy, security and defense, culture, society, and people-to-people exchanges.
During Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to India in last August, the two countries vowed to continue realizing the Plan of Action for the implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership for the period of 2024-2028, noted the Vietnamese official.
At the dialogue, both sides reviewed the outcomes of the bilateral cooperation since the previous dialogue, analyzed emerging security challenges, and discussed measures relevant to the application of science and technology in ensuring national security and combating transnational crimes.
The sides committed to working together to effectively implement cooperation orientations in the coming period, aiming to ensure national security, maintain public order in each country, and make practical contributions to deepening Viet Nam-India comprehensive strategic partnership./.
