Accordingly, these ports are located in Quang Ninh (14 ports), Hai Phong (50), Nam Dinh (3), Thai Binh (2), Thanh Hoa (10), Nghe An (7), Ha Tinh (6), Quang Binh (4), Quang Tri (2), Thua-Thien Hue (2), Da Nang (8), Quang Nam (3), Quang Ngai (8), Binh Dinh (4), Phu Yen (1), Khanh Hoa (17), Ninh Thuan (3) and Binh Thuan (6).
In the southern localities, Ba Ria-Vung Tau has 47 ports, while others are situated in Binh Duong (1), Dong Nai (18), Ho Chi Minh City (40), Long An (3), Tien Giang (2), Dong Thap (3), Ben Tre (1), Vinh Long (3), Can Tho (17), Hau Giang (2), Soc Trang (1), Tra Vinh (2), An Giang (1), Kien Giang (4) and Ca Mau (1).
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh signed a Decision announcing the list of 34 seaports in Viet Nam.
With a coastline of over 3260 km, Viet Nam boasts for great potential to develop seaports. The country's biggest ports are located along the coastline with distinct advantages.
The construction and development of Viet Nam's seaports are implemented in accordance with Decision No. 1037/ QĐ-TTG dated 24/6/2014 approving Viet Nam's revised seaport system planning to 2020 and vision to 2030./.
