Four of the newly added terminals are located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province while while Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai, and HCM City have one new terminal each.
At present, Hai Phong tops the list with 50 terminals, followed by Ba Ria-Vung Tau (46), Ho Chi Minh City (42), Can Tho (21), Dong Nai (18), Khanh Hoa (16), Quang Ninh (13), Da Nang (eight), Nghi Son, Nghe An, and Dung Quat (seven each); and Ha Tinh and Binh Thuan (six each).
Quang Binh, Quy Nhon, Kien Giang have four terminals each. Hai Thinh and Dong Thap ports own three terminals each. Thai Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Ky Ha, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Ca Na ports comprise two terminals each. Quang Tri, Vung Ro, Binh Duong, Tra Vinh, An GIang, Vinh Long, and Nam Can seaports have one terminal each.
The Vietnamese seaports handle about 120,000 vessel arrivals and record growth rate of nearly 16 percent in cargo throughput.
Last year, they handled 692 million tons of goods./.
