Viet Nam, France research to promote cooperation in sharing war memories

Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien spoke highly of the significance of Miralles's ongoing visit to Viet Nam, which reflects the spirit of reconciliation, "closing the past, looking towards the brighter future"; and the development cooperation between the two countries and their people.

Hoang suggested both sides should promote cooperation in sharing war memories, including collecting documents and historical materials to compile educational documents, exchanging war information and remembrances, and organizing joint seminars on historical topics.

For her part, French Secretary of State for Veterans and Memory Patricia Miralles agreed with her host's suggestions regarding cooperation in sharing war memories. 

She thanked the Vietnamese side for inviting French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu and her to visit Viet Nam./.
