Viet Nam demands Taiwan stop military drill in Spratly Islands

VGP - Taiwan's live-fire drill in the waters around Ba Binh Island in Viet Nam's Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago is a serious violation of Viet Nam's territorial sovereignty, threatening peace, maritime stability, safety and security, causing tension and complicating the situation in the East Sea, said Foreign Ministry's Deputy Spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang.

The diplomat made the above statement on March 31 in Ha Noi when she was asked about Taiwan having conducted live-fire drills in the waters around Itu Aba, known as Ba Binh Island in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam resolutely opposes and demand Taiwan stop the above illegal activities and not repeat similar violations, she said.

Ba Binh is the largest natural island in Viet Nam's Truong Sa archipelago./.
